Monroe County – Rochester, NY – Judge John DeMarco – Election 11-03-09
I clipped this particular speech for two (2) reasons –
First, and most importantly –
To John:
You won the well deserved Judicial seat within the County of Monroe. I initially this created this particular piece for you to have as a keepsake … as a part of memorabilia that you may want to reflect upon one day. You did the work … you fought a very long and hard campaign … for close to a year, you “walked the walk” (literally, each day) – you played fair, campaign hard – and, with a very honest, and positive mindset. As many of us out here know, you have desired this position for years … it is now yours.
Upon the days end, November 3rd – the voters saw through the negative attacks of Joe Morelle, and as a result – you prevailed … deservingly. This clip is for for your “scrapbook“… your campaign for Monroe County Court Judge of 09′. It’s your time, as it is your turn for a seat within the Monroe County Judicial Court.
Again, well deserved, and absolutely well earned.
Secondly –
Only because I and am SOooOoo very weak when it comes to temptation, I just cannot resist … I must address Mr. Joe Morelle.
To Joe:
I know that it is only a matter of time before this clip reaches your desk … I would like this opportunity to remind you that the great lengths that you’d gone to regarding this campaign with the horrendous negative attacks on Judge John DeMarco – will not soon be forgotten.
And, soon you will be up for re-elect – please know, there are many of us that will remain with this election on the front burner. I am ALL for that “Silence Gives Consent” stuff … I have even used these words myself, in the past – therefore, I do “get it”. However, when I personally quote that phrase – I do not wait four plus (4+) years to make my point. I “nip it in the bud” (so to speak) … I prefer to not express it as a “delayed” action (in this case, very delayed) to make a point.
Your poor choices from this campaign, among others, will follow you closely (don’t think for a minute we have forgotten about your press ridiculous press conference, re your offering of 125K to influence the voters during the Permissive Referendum back in February for the relocation of our Seniors to the leased space at Kings Park – this too, remains on our “front burner” … ah, and yes – and I could continue)
On election night, Nov. 3rd – Chairman Bill Reilich nailed it best as he described it perfectly, and most accurately when he’d voiced his opinion – “The Voters of Monroe County rejected Joe Morelle’s Albany Style Politics” … the voting citizens of Monroe County saw through your “low blow” desperate efforts of campaigning.
Yes, democracy CAN BE a beautiful thing … I believe that the voting community has spoken … and I do suggest that they continue to pay attention when it is your turn – regarding your own lever inside the voting booth.
